Hey, did you hear? I’m organizing a fanbook for another comic that’s very close to my heart! More information here!
UGH STOP DOING THINGS TO MY HEART.
Lee: -talking to the cats- I want to make Frank’s wish come true, whatever it is.
Frank: I wish you would just go away Lee, let me take care of my family in peace.
When Frank opens his eyes… Lee is gone, and he finds himself missing him very, very much…
Frank goes to find Lee, but when he finds him Lee doesn’t know who he is…xD
I am a horrible human being…. >>
I love this comic so much~!
I think i know it too… *sad*
This will so not make you any happier, Frank. Sending away the last person who still has the energy to support YOU will not give you any happiness. Your siblings care fuck about your feelings, they have their own problems, as do your parents, who have already shwon hat they don’t even understand that there is a problem with their expectations. Sending Lee away will cost you your last support. And after that argument, I think Lee will leave. He’s not even given a choice.
I’m not sure Lee is listening anymore…
Yep. Frank gave up on his own dreams without a fight. He’s so desperate to please his father, to “uphold the family tradition” that he’s willing to sacrifice his own dreams out of “duty.” Lee shouldn’t be surprised, other than once mentioning taking classes locally, Frank has never mentioned a future that wasn’t taking over the farm. But unlike dear old dad, just what does Frank think is going to come along and make him never regret his sacrifice? He’s not going to get the family that comes along and helps soothe the wound of missing out.
There is honestly no happy way for this to work out, unless Frank’s father tells him it’s okay to follow his dream. Somehow, I don’t see that happening. I think any wish Lee makes, someone is going to be unhappy. If he wishes for Frank to be happy, most likely it’ll mean he’s not. Wishes for Frank to be free, then something horrible is likely to happen, and Frank certainly won’t be happy. I just don’t see Lee as being so meticulous that he would be able to phrase a wish in a way for a Happily Ever After.
Could someone please explain to me what Frank means by “defend myself from you”? My native language is not english and I don’t think I understand what he is saying :S (like, I may have an idea but I am not sure if it is correct or not).
I’m pretty sure Frank means defending his choice in supporting his family instead of going after his dreams.
Thank you! ^^
Ouch Frank. Sadly, it’s often when we need people the most that we push them away. You can’t blame Frank for feeling duty-bound to his family, but it looks like the farm isn’t going to last and then what will he do? Somehow him and his family will have to figure out another way of making a living. I hope someone can get Frank to widen his perspective to see that he could possibly follow his dreams *and* help his family financially too. It’s not necessarily mutually exclusive. My heart breaks for our poor guys!! Especially as I’ve known some people who followed duty over dreams and man… they are not happy people!!
I guess I’m the odd one out here but I think Frank’s being pretty fucking reasonable? Like it’s kind of true that even with the best of intentions, Lee’s been pretty selfish and oblivious most of the time and it’s understandable that Frank really can’t deal with that right now. I don’t see that as a fault on either of their parts, and while I’d agree that Frank needs people and support more than ever, it is probably not wise to keep his world as small an insular as it has been since his dad got sick — he needs people other than his family and Lee.
What worries me is that Frank doesn’t speak in terms of right nows or ’til things are sorted outs… He sounds pretty definitive with his ‘reasonable’ discourse
Lee? I think your mascara is running…
Good Frank, good… Now you won’t even have to worry about coming out to your parent! Wouldn’t want to stress them any more, would you?
Frank, you’re supposed to be the logical one.
Sending the only person away (aside from Sam and other quieter voices) who actually cares about what you WANT to do with harsh words, insults, and walls, isn’t very smart.
Granted, you’re in so much emotional turmoil you can’t even begin to think about anything but what’s going on right now.
But Lee has been your best friend for the longest time.
Don’t send him away like this. The chances of him coming back are very, very low.
If at all.
It may be a strong bridge, but even that can collapse with enough fire.
Is anyone else terrified of what Lee’s gonna say next, given that look on his face? Oh… oh dear.
Has everybody practiced their table-flipping routine? Lee seems infuriated enough to challenge/‘ulimatumize’ Frank ⎛≖‸≖⎞
Ready? Set… FLIP‼ (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
