Where was he last night, again?
No, honestly, I’m worried to DEATH (bad pun sorry orz) & the camping on the Young Protectors with Kyle magically bound doesn’t really put my heart at peace =°/
I was only just thinking the same thing (about the Young Protectors that is)
BOOOOOOOOYS >( BAD! Sex, fine, unprotected nooooo!!
Wait…what?!! He means Frank right? Oh boy, how did I miss the fact that they are sleeping together? Now I have to re-read the whole thing again.
How did you miss them waking up together in the same bed three months into their dating each other at the beginning of this chapter? You know, when Frank had that dream? Did you think they were having an innocent sleepover? Seems pretty clear to me.
Maybe to you but alas not every couple is necessarily sexual active after three months; so maybe they could have just been sharing a bed as a couple because relationships aren’t about sex. Also I’m a big fan of this comic and even I was unsure if they were sexually active until this page because of how slowly their relationship first progressed. Frank was obviously weary about getting involved romantically with Lee let alone sexually; so I think it’s perfectly valid that someone would think they hadn’t been having sex.
Also your tone has a kind of condescending and kind of rude air about it.
(psst I met Kori at Otakon and she told me that they’re totally havin’ sex already, they are using protection still and now Lee is seeing if it’s safe to not use it)
Also my boyfriend and I shared a bed for sleeping before we were even dating (well… for like a minute before I asked him out, but the intent was there), and didn’t have sex until we’d been together (and occasionally sleeping together) for several months.
GAH! I’m insanely jealous of you. But the for sure artist/author confirmation is awesome thank you! :3
Actually, this scene did not imply anywhere that they were having sex at this point in their relationship. Sharing a bed does not automatically equal sex. Intimacy does not equal sex.
It’s not shown this way on TV or in movies anymore (where people jump in the sack after having known each other for a full… 10 minutes or so), but there are still a lot of people who like to take the time to fully know and trust their partners before they get to have sex.
Honestly, at first I thought it was an “innocent sleepover,” but then Frank seemed too relaxed, he kissed Lee after waking up and putting on pants. And then that kissing scene in the lockers. The story’s not really set in most recent/latest time, so I think things going here are more conservative than it really is now. Not to mention they’re still Asians, which means being reserved and conservative is still in their blood. Frank, no matter how comfortable he is, whether he’s in a relationship or not, wouldn’t let themselves sleep in the same bed so intimately wearing so little clothing like a wifebeater/top and I’m guessing, underwear, with Lee. If they didn’t have sex together, they probably would be a little more formal with each other. Like a shirt, pajama pants, and no kiss.
Look! The walls are blushing as well!
Last night !! But ! We bearly see you and frank kiss and now you had sex !HOW ?
You have to buy the extra printed books for that stuff.
Seriously? I’m surprised Frank lets you come at him without a condom. Unless…
Lee just said that he uses protection /now/ (that would mean with Frank to me)
Does Frank know what this test was about?
I feel like everybody is really confused.
I think it’s safe to assume Lee has had sex before his relationship with Frank (consensual or not is the real question). Evidence can be found in the scene where Frank and Lee talk in the barn after making out in the bathroom. I would go find this snippet myself but alas, no.
Also it’s been stated before this comic is going to be kept pretty PG-13 as far as visual content so most of their sexual relationship is up to interpretation. Like now.
Sexual active doesn’t necessarily involve genitals, at least according to my doctor but I digress. However it’s safe to assume that that is what Kori was going for here considering the mention of the condom.
Oh, was is that fleshback where Lee was crying and a friend (probably Owen) was asking if he should call his parents or Frank?
I suspect that has a lot to do with this situation now.
Omg, a facebook friend, hello! And yes, maybe so.
Hello. Fancy meeting you here
Here’s the address to the snippet : http://princeofcatscomic.com/comic/chapter-2-page-184/
Oh my gosh I never even caught that!!! -GASP-
Woah, I’d totally forgotten about that flashback! Thanks for mentioning. Plot bunnies are now gloriously bouncing in my head! haha. I(n the best possible way!)
Lee, masturbation doesn’t count as a sexual activity where you can get an STD…
well actually… there is a /slight/ chance
If you touch your partner and get pre or seminal fluid on your hand, which can carry infectious material, and then touch yourself, there is a VERY slight chance of contracting highly infective STDs, such as syphilis (of course only, if your partner has it).
Then again, syph can even be transmitted by kissing.
I meant solo masturbation, for when you are at home alone (which is what I assumed he meant since it was a school day).
But you are right to point out that mutual masturbation is not zero risk :).
…His blushes are adorable o.o…despite the situation
I went to a women’s college, just to make these appointments even worse this list always included “Do you pee right after sex? Does your girlfriend?” Women’s college: where yeast infections are an STI!
I knew it.
Oh my, I do hope Lee is okay, come on doctor, we’re counting on you for good news!
I absolutely love this comic, but I feel that the pacing here is off. There wasn’t a lot of discussion/ depiction on Frank and Lee’s evolving relationship. In fact, there hasn’t been much relationship at all and it feels like it’s just been a jump from “we’re dating now” to “and (maybe?) sex”. I understand not making the story graphic, but there is an overall lack of story telling. Even if more is included when you buy the volumes, there should still be a fluid story for online readers. No offense to Kori, who has been nothing but wonderful and it may just be me getting further confused by everyone’s comments on what is going on. I’m anticipating how this will turn out.
Hi MissG! Thanks for the feedback, and I’m sorry you’re finding the pacing confusing.
I want to let you know that all of the important plot information is in the web-published comic. The side stories in the printed issues are just that, bonus stories, and they don’t contribute to the overall narrative. So don’t worry, there’s nothing in there that would make Frank and Lee’s relationship details any clearer. The side adult-comics are fantasy comics and don’t depict Frank and Lee’s actual sexual encounters.
Everything you need to know about the romantic plot is here in the comic; the discussion about whether they’ve had sex or how they’ve had sex is just interpretation by readers in the comments section right now. It’s not necessary to know in order to understand the narrative. As of this page, all you know is that they’ve been dating for a while and woke up in bed together. Details will gradually appear over the next few pages and scenes that might answer some questions you have, but again, as of this page you haven’t missed anything.
There is truth in that I did purposefully jump from “dating” to “maybe having sex,” though. As a writer, I didn’t find that any of the stuff in between was plot-relevant. I try to keep the story tight, and scenes of them advancing their sexual relationship were not cut out because they were graphic, but because they didn’t serve the plot at all.
If the comments section is making your experience confusing, you may want to avoid it. Lots of theories bounce around down there, and they shouldn’t make you feel like you’ve missed something important. I try to be appropriately subtle but I don’t purposefully hide any necessary information.
I hope you continue to enjoy the comic and don’t hesitate to send me an email if you have any additional concerns.
Wow! Thank you for the reply! I’m sorry if I missed the post somewhere about the plot information is here (I think I’m just used to some info being buyer privilege). I am just going to chalk this up to me getting overly wrapped up in viewer discussion.
But, of course I will continue to enjoy the comic! Your style is quite unique and I appreciate that. This entire story has really caught my attention because the writing style is different than what I’m used to, and I guess that is why I got so encased in all of the viewer discussion (Oops). I’m just going to bite my tongue and let the story unfold without letting the comments confuse me.
Thank you again for the thorough reply!
